In Pursuit – Part Three

Sri Thakhura Mahasaya is in “Lalasa” or divine expectation of being granted servitude at the feet of Srimati Radharani and thus he is in the mood of Das anudas which means he is the servant of Loknatha Goswami , who in turn is the servant of Rupa Goswami who in turn is the servant of Sriman Mahaprabhu. In his eternal form as a Campaka Manjari, Thakhura Mahasaya is the servant of Sri Manjulali manjari who in turn is the servant of Rupa Manjari who in turn is the servant of Srimati Radharani. Smaranam, Nerve Centre of Bhajana

If Shravanam and Kirtanam is the heart of Vaishnava Bhajana, Smaranam is the Nerve Centre of Bhajana. There are two aspects in Bhajana namely external and internal. The body and the senses of a living entity are continually being bombarded with impressions from sense objects which makes the living entity susceptible to infirmity. Jeeva, an embodiment of treachery

Jeeva or a living entity is that soul which is within the grip of mind, intelligence, false ego and may or may not possess a gross body. Ghouls and ghosts are also jeevas but they do not have gross bodies. The human being is the most complex example of jeeva. In the context of Bhakti, understanding “jeeva sthithi” or the standing of the jeeva in the context of Bhakti Continue reading “Jeeva, an embodiment of treachery”

Bhakti Tattva – Part Eight

In the garden, Sriman Mahaprabhu showed mercy to King Prataparudra, the devotee King of Puri. Sriman Mahaprabhu was greatly revered by both Sri Sarvabhauma and his wife. Once Sriman Mahaprabhu was criticized at the home of Sarvabhauma by the host’s son-in-law on account of the sumptuous meal served to Him by Sarvabhauma’s wife. This deeply pained the host and the hostess. Sathi’s mother (Sathi was the daughter of Sarvabhauma) cursed her own son-in-law to die because of the insult meted out by him to Lord Mahaprabhu. In pursuit – Part One

“In pursuit” is a series of teachings and realizations in everyday life . The teachings of the Prema Bhakti Candrika by Srila Narottama Thakhura Mahasaya form the base framework of the Gaudiya Vaishnavic thought. Sriman Mahaprabhu established the renewed Vedic approach in an easier, digestible format and passed on this revelatory knowledge to the six Goswamis of Vrindavana. However the Prayojana tattva or the ultimate goal of Gaudiya Vaishnavism has been conclusively established by the Mahasaya where he firmly establishes the objective of Gaudiya Vaishnava way of life with laser sharp precision. Any deviation from the teachings of Prema Bhakti Candrika can be safely assumed to be a disturbance to Sriman Mahaprabhu’s very own internal mood and intention. Any jeeva seriously interested in its own ultimate wellbeing should simply follow the teachings of Thakhura Mahasaya. Continue reading “In pursuit – Part One”

Sex and Bhakti

This topic is rarely discussed in Bhakti circles because it may prove controversial considering the nature of the subject, especially in the context of spirituality; sex appears to be out of place. However this is very relevant and people who are in the sadhana practice of seeking eternal service of Sri Sri Radha Krishna in the Raganuga mode should have a proper view of sex so that their sadhana is immaculate and dot on with respect to attaining the Prayojana or the Ultimate objective, that is achieving the eternal service of handmaid-hood of Srimati Radharani while being still embodied in this life time. Bhakti Tattva – Part Seven

In Srirangam, Lord Mahaprabhu defeated the tattvavadis and made them realize that they were inferior Vaishnavas. Sriman Mahaprabhu visited many temples in the south namely the Padmanabha, Anantadeva, Janardana and Vasudeva temples. The Lord then delivered the seven palm trees by embracing them and sending them back to Vaikuntha, behind which Sri Ramachandra stood and killed Vali during the fight between Sugriva and Vali. At Rameswaram the Lord had an opportunity to read Continue reading “Bhakti Tattva – Part Seven”
